Nasce e studia a Roma dove si diploma all’Istituto di Cinematografia e Tv come disegnatrice di cartoni animati negli anni 70. In seguito frequenta l’Istituto in Tecniche di Pittura Murale e Affresco; prosegue, specializzandosi alla scuola di Restauro di Dipinti ed Affreschi Antichi. Lavora nel tempo a numerosi cantieri di restauro di pitture murali in Roma, frequentando studi  di pittori imparando l’arte delle tecniche e il mestiere.

Attualmente con la pittura si dedica ad una ricerca di forme ed espressioni  contemporanee , usando vari mezzi e sperimentando vari materiali. Vive e lavora a Roma.

La donna e l’intensità del sentimento.

Nell’ interpretazione di Susanna Casale la donna è al centro del suo fare arte. Principio ed epilogo della natura umana, luogo in cui trovare il già avvenuto e il possibile, il passato e il futuro. La pittura come strumento per scavare nella conoscenza, nel sapere, alla ricerca del senso dell’uomo, del significato primario dell’essere. Le sue opere richiamano la riflessione spirituale, la pausa di fronte alla vita. Susanna Casale recupera dalla mitologia l’immagine della donna,   delicata e schiva, sensuale e sicura e le ridona vita in una forma che è sempre morbida, tessuto su cui adattare drappeggi e colori.  Infatti, le donne che l’artista dipinge sono volti pieni di mistero, avvolti da auree di colore luminescenti, dorati fino a cogliere l’attimo più intenso. L’intensità di queste facce piena di pathos, di forza espressiva, riflettono sensazioni, percezioni, stati d’animo che riflettono la vita, colmi di aspetti positivi ma, spesso anche di dolore; è come se gli occhi di queste donne vogliano comunicarci la durezza della vita, le difficoltà da attraversare ma anche la verità che ad ognuno di noi  rivelerà.  I colori che la Casale adotta rievocano l’oriente: sono paste di rossi, sono sfumature della terra ogni colore lo conosciamo già, appartiene ai toni della natura e del sottosuolo. Le donne che l’artista ritrae hanno volti che citano le Indie,  l’Africa, sono donne dagli sguardi pieni di ritualità pieni di antiche verità, di usanze a noi sconosciute forse solo tramandate.   Talvolta il colore vince sul segno, invadendo la tela con forza fino ad esprimere l’intensità del sentimento aperto come su una profondità che non lascia scampo Le opere di Susanna Casale non rappresentano solo volti unici ed decisi di donne, ma anche inconsueti paesaggi naturali creati da oro a foglie e pittura.  L’oriente è il mondo a cui si ispira, lo racconta nelle tele con soggetti in prevalenza fatti di oro e di ricchezze della terra. Susanna Casale ci guida in un mondo antico, sconosciuto; gli sguardi delle sue donne, così immobili, caldi quasi ci suscitano timore, invece in un secondo momento diventano un caldo abbraccio rassicurante pieno di karma interiore e di energie antiche,  quelle cose semplici che in occidente ci siamo dimenticati e che guidano ancora oggi l’Oriente. Tratto in parte dalla critica di Marianna Costantini

"The woman and the intensity of the sentiment"

In the interpretation of Susanna Casale the woman is to the center of his to make art. Principle and epilogue of the human nature, place in which to find the already happened and the possible one, the past and the future.                              The painting as instrument for digging in the knowledge, in to know, to the search of the sense of the man, of the primary meaning of the being. Her works recall the spiritual reflection, the pause in front of the life.      Her women are a "artistic story" they become writing and they melt him with the painting, they are conceptual works in which "the man" it is always to the center of the narration, in a story that is not concluded never, that doesn't enunciate truth or conclusions, but she leaves to each the possibility to stop the time on a pause of reflection.  Susanna Casale recovers from the mythology the image of the woman, delicate and bashful, sensual and sure and the ridonas life in a form that is always soft, plotted on which to adapt draperies and colors. In fact, the women that the artist paints are turned full of mystery, wound from golden of color luminescent, gilded up to gather the most intense instant.      The intensity of these faces flood of pathos, of expressive energy, they reflect feelings, perceptions, are of mind that  reflect the life, full of positive aspects but, often also of pain; it is as if the eyes of these women want to communicate us the hardness of the life, the difficulties to cross but also the truth that to each of us it will reveal.   The artist has chosen the eyes and a the look as half of communication: nothing is persuasive and intense, nothing expresses better the states of mind with a scheming enigma. The woman in the history of the art has always been a form to paint, symbol of the figuration of every time and you/he/she is to the form of the woman, in this case to her eyes, that the artist delivers the aesthetical judgment of the art. The colors that the Casale adopts recall the east: they are pastas of red, they are tones of the earth every color we already know it, it belongs to the tones of the nature and the subsoil. The women that the artist withdraws have turned that Indies quote, Africa, is women from the looks full of rituality full of ancient truths, of customs to us strangers only you hand down perhaps.  None of these women smiles, every look is heavy and deep, each of them is wound by draperies and colors that evoke her own country, every object or amulet that wear it has a precise meaning and the artist  has faithfully withdrawn it to communicate us a truth, a message, always different, that seems to have been emerging for the time to induce us to a reflection on the man, on its history, on the time. The color sometimes wins on the sign, invading the cloth with strength thin to express the intensity of the open feeling as on an abyss that doesn't leave escape. The works of Susanna Casale don't represent only face unique  and definite of women, but also unusual natural landscapes created by leaves gold and painting.   The artist in the female figuration as in to paint the landscapes it uses very strong colors, in the sceneries they become excessive up to result surreal so much to be confused the scene. They to paint some artist brings us to ancient worlds, they are cloths influenced by ancient customs, from ritual that have been handed down there, reported but distant from the west. The east, in fact, is the world to which is inspired, he tells  through its women, floods of details, of colors and of gold typical of that world and in the landscapes done in gold prevalence and of wealths of the earth.  Susanna Casale drives us in an ancient world, unknown, done of rituals and of different too customs by us up to call the other world. Her women's looks, so immovable, warm they almost arouse us fear, instead in a second moment they become a warm reassuring embrace full of internal karma and of ancient energies, those simple things that in west we are forgotten there and that they direct today still the east.  by Marianna Costantini
