Statement

PANTA RHEI – EVERYTHING FLOWS These two words could concisely describe the style of Cristina Adria´s artworks. She has always been fascinated by quantum physics and studied it in order to better understand the mystery of space and time, matter and energy - but the more you know, the bigger the mystery becomes! Matter is not solid as we normally perceive it, but is rather energy, it is always in movement, always flowing – from the microscopic level of elementary particles to the macroscopic dimensions of stars and galaxies. For this reason an idea of flux and movement al¬ways emerges in her works. Nothing remains the same, everything is permanently in movement. Quantum Physics rises fundamental questions about the world we live in and our place therein, telling us that everything in the universe is connected, everything is energy and maybe everything is consciousness. We are all connected, with everything on earth, with every other living being. The artist experiments with different media, creating different textures with different levels of viscosity and fluidity, transparency and opacity, trying to find a balance between control and unpredictability of matter.

È sempre stata affascinata dalla fisica quantistica e l'ha studiata per comprendere meglio il mistero dello spazio e del tempo, della materia e dell'energia - ma più si sa, più grande diventa il mistero! La materia non è solida come la percepiamo normalmente, ma è piuttosto energia, è sempre in movimento, sempre fluisce – dal livello microscopico delle particelle elementari alle dimensioni macroscopiche di stelle e galassie. Per questo motivo nelle sue opere c'è sempre un senso di flusso e di movimento. Niente rimane uguale, tutto è permanentemente in movimento. La fisica quantistica solleva domande fondamentali sul mondo in cui viviamo e sul nostro posto in esso, dicendoci che tutto nell’universo è connesso, tutto è energia e forse tutto è coscienza. Siamo tutti connessi, con ogni cosa sulla terra, con ogni altro essere vivente. L'artista sperimenta diversi media, creando diverse texture con diversi livelli di viscosità e fluidità, trasparenza e opacità, lucentezza e opacità, cercando di trovare un equilibrio tra controllo e imprevedibilità della materia.
