Statement

Under my pseudonym Aurora Noir i’m working as a photographer, painter and author in Vienna.

Photography for me is all about emotions and feelings. An expression of my emotions and thoughts. For the viewer to feel. My first exhibition in 2018 was „Forms Of Fear“, dealt with topic of phobia, or “fighting“ and „allowing“ various phobias. My direction became clear after this exhibition. To deal with subjects that are not seen or do not want to be seen. Some of my photographs may seem grim, melancholic or even depressive. But that is exactly what I am about. Showing the unseen.

What do I mean by unseen? Topics like depression, borderline, suicide, … so that they can be seen, heard, made visible in our world. (- as these are precisely the issues that should be heard more) Because it is relevant, important, hidden. Photography has helped me to reconnect with myself. And I am glad to have to opportunity to show that through my work.
