Statement

Painting helps me live better in this complex world. I guess I have stopped trying to make sense of what goes on in the world, but by painting dreams, nostalgies, pain and joy, I try to find the “Inner Peace” and the “Harmony” in this chaos. Using photos collages combined with oil painting are fast, brief, and useful. They make it possible to show and to say many things in one artwork in a short time. What is important for me is that my artworks not leave the observers indifferent. I want to create a reaction in them, whether it is curiosity and reflection or rejection and dislike.

Biography

Born in 1971 in Washington DC (USA), of Iranian and Swiss nationality, I grew up in Iran from 1976 to 1997.

I took private lessons in drawing and painting from 1986 until 1995 and studied painting at the Faculty of Art and Architecture of the “Azad” University of Tehran from 1993 till 1997.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Painting (BA) in 1998 when I returned from Cambodia. After my marriage in 1997, I traveled and lived in Cambodia (1997-1998), Colombia (1999-2001), Cameroon (2002-2004), South Africa (2004-2006) and Madagascar (2007).

Since 2008 I live in Geneva/ Switzerland.
