Statement

I graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia, 1992 and the Baltic International Academy in Riga, Latvia 2011. Since 1994 I participate in exhibitions, workshops, plein airs and other projects in Latvia and abroad. For me painting is a way of trying to understand myself and the world around me as a subjective, intuitive message about thoughts, feelings and events. I am influenced by a lot of things: people, artworks of other artists, books, movies. I have been working on these works for quite a long time and for me it means doubting, preparing my work according to the components, then reuniting. There is rarely a feeling that I have done everything perfectly, but I strive for it.
