Statement

Art is my essential food of soul.

Having always had a huge passion for art, I couldn’t escape creating it in my life, because for me, Art is crucial to awake my feelings, senses and emotions.

When in Brussels in 2005, I attended for the first time an artistic courses, I had the highlight of my life, a revelation by understanding my real artistic potential, the irresistible desire to develop it and the punch to express myself artistically.

I work always according to the inspirations and feelings of the moment, linked to a socio-cultural, historical, sentimental or personal context and, sometimes, by a specific work that I have seen and have touched me, rather than by a specific painter known or not. The aim of my paintings is to brighten up our daily live or to highlight societal, environmental or political aspects.

I have my own art style, which can be a mixture of allegorical subjects, abstract surrealistic painting and/or pop art. Also, my artistic style is indeed influenced by the various cultures that I have adopted during my life by living in various countries.

My creative spirit and the accumulation of various art techniques allows me, as self-taught painter, to achieve creations which are the fruit of my own designs and to develop my own working techniques according to my needs. That motivates me also to continue to create. I like to innovate, combining textures and materials. I invented a mixed technique "Painting on canvas with painted porcelain fragments" which mixed two completely different materials, porcelain with painted canvas, so that with my own techniques I end up creating an avant-garde work, contemporary and inimitable, giving new life to porcelain. I mainly paint my canvases in acrylic, but also in watercolour and oil, as well as with the enormous palette of mediums that are at my disposal for painting porcelain.

By my Art, I intend to touch the sensitivity of the public through the feelings perceived in their heart and spirit.

Therefore, I hope you enjoy viewing my artworks, as so much as I enjoy creating them…

Awards

In 2017, Belinha innovate artistically her artwork by inventing a mixed technique that brings together painted canvas with fragments of painted porcelain. In 2020, she felt the need to get feedback on her artwork and decided to sign up for online painting competitions (what you can see above). That way, she forked from painting only on porcelain to painting canvas with her mixed technique.
